1. Morning Route: Dodamsambong, the First of Danyang's Eight Scenic Views, and Gudambong and Oksunbong on Chungjuho Lake
Begin your Danyang trip with its opening scene: Dodamsambong, three rocky peaks rising from the middle of the gently flowing Namhangang River. The hexagonal pavilion 'Samdojeong' atop the central Janggunbong peak, framed by morning river mist or a blue sky, is considered the finest of Danyang's Eight Scenic Views. Climb the stairs to the side and you can also see 'Seokmun,' a huge rainbow-shaped stone gate.
If you want to see more of the majestic cliffs along the Namhangang River, continue your drive to Danyang's Gudambong and Oksunbong peaks toward Janghoe Ferry Terminal. The sheer rock peaks meet the surface of the lake, so the view from a cruise boat or an observatory looks like a traditional landscape painting.

Yeohaenggak editor's tip Visit Dodamsambong between 9 and 10 a.m. for easy parking, and with the sun shining from the front, your photos of the peaks come out the sharpest.
2. Thrills and a Riverside Walk in One: Mancheonha Skywalk and the Danyanggang Jando Trail
On the Namhangang River cliff across from Danyang Station rises Mancheonha Skywalk, a spiral observatory at 320 m above sea level. Follow the gently spiraling walkway to the top, and the Yeonhwabong ridge of Sobaeksan and the Namhangang River winding around downtown spread out beneath your feet, while the trident-shaped glass deck with its transparent floor makes for a thrilling photo.
From the lower parking lot of Mancheonha Skywalk toward downtown Danyang, the 1.2 km 'Danyanggang Jando Trail' runs along the rock walls of the Namhangang River. A safe deck path laid on riverside cliffs that were once nearly impossible to reach lets you enjoy the refreshing feeling of walking right above the water, along with night lighting from dusk.

Yeohaenggak editor's tip The Danyanggang Jando Trail connects directly to Mancheonha Skywalk's (lower) ticket office, making it ideal for parking in one spot and seeing both sights as a set.
3. Exploring Danyang's Gosu Cave, a Natural Monument, and Namhangang Mandarin Fish and Garlic Cuisine
If you want to escape the midday heat or wind and rain and discover a mysterious underground world, step into Danyang Gosu Cave. Magnificent stalactites, stalagmites, and flowstones shaped by rain and groundwater over hundreds of millions of years, such as Lion Rock, the Mary Statue, and Eagle Rock, continue in awe-inspiring fashion throughout the 1.7 km viewing route, and the cave stays cool at around 15°C all year.
After the cave, try a spicy, deeply flavored mandarin fish stew or a fragrant Danyang six-clove garlic set meal at riverside spots in downtown Danyang such as Geujip Ssogari and Gyeongnam Restaurant, and if you stay one night, rest at Bukdanyang Resort, Danyang Chueok Pension, or in the foothills of Sobaeksan National Park.

Yeohaenggak editor's tip The later part of Gosu Cave includes sections of steel stairs going up and down, so for safety wear non-slip sneakers instead of dress shoes or slippers.
